Cultivating Joy as an Act of Resistance w/Janet Buller

July 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm PDT

In moments of uncertainty or injustice, finding joy remains one of the most powerful acts of resistance. Join us for an interactive community conversation led by lyricist and songwriter, Janet Buller, where we’ll explore what it means to intentionally cultivate joy in the face of adversity.

We’re excited to spotlight yet another bright star from our Pandion Music community. Janet has always loved exploring songwriting, drumming, ecstatic dance, art, and many other forms of self expression. In times of upheaval, the biggest way to shift our perspective is to find our own joy. Janet is a lyricist, composer, and topliner from outside Houston, Texas. She is addicted to co-writing and birthing songs out of nothing. Her sense of humor and love of deep connections and enlightening conversation shine through in her songs. Janet is a professional photographer and live event painter with a background in advertising. Her love of ecstatic dancing (anywhere, anytime) lightens the room and occasionally gets her in trouble.

We invite you to bring lyrics that spark joy for you, along with any personal practices or reflections that help you stay grounded during times of uncertainty and systemic injustice. This space is for building community, tapping into collective resilience, and remembering that joy is not a luxury, but a lifeline.

“We need joy as we need air. We need love as we need water. We need each other as we need the earth we share.” – Maya Angelou.

Our Community Conversations series is designed to be collaborative and open-ended, so feel free to speak up, reflect, and discover new ways to stay grounded, inspired, and joyful.
