Beyond the Hashtag: Real-World Tips for Networking As A Creative w/Marcus Manderson

April 24 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT

Let’s talk networking! We can’t emphasize enough how important networking is in the career of a creative. And not only in music careers, but any other freelance career path that is self-managed and self-forged — networking skills are the GOLDEN tools that you want in your toolbox! This is the critical piece that can mean the difference between a novice career, and one that is steadily and exponentially growing and progressing.

Lucky for us, AV Manager and Music Composer/Producer, Marcus “Da Fingaz” Manderson is joining us to share his expert tips on how to build effective and efficient networking skills as a music creator.

Marcus is a Virginia-based composer and producer of hip hop, pop, R&B, ambient, afrobeats, funk/disco, cinematic, and sync/trailer music with sync placements on networks like Starz, MTV, BET, and Fox and music featured on projects like museum exhibits and theme park attractions. In addition to organizing panels for music conferences, he has composed music for films such as the indie sci-fi film, “Hemisphere,” now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, and Tubi.

Marcus has generously compiled a comprehensive list of resources to help fellow music creators! Whether you’re seeking production tools, education materials, or inspiration, this curated collection has something for everyone.
